SAP AFS / S/4HANA Solution Architect
Location: Buffalo, NY
Position Summary
We are seeking a Senior SAP Solution Architect with deep expertise in SAP AFS (Apparel & Footwear Solution) and strong experience across SAP ECC and SAP S/4HANA environments.
The architect will provide architecture leadership and guidance to the AMS delivery team, supporting the current SAP landscape while helping define and execute the organization's future S/4HANA roadmap. This role requires a combination of strategic architecture expertise, hands-on SAP knowledge, production support experience, and strong client-facing communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide solution architecture leadership across SAP ECC, AFS, and S/4HANA environments.
- Act as the primary architecture advisor for the AMS delivery team.
- Review and approve solution designs, enhancements, custom developments, and technical approaches.
- Support SAP roadmap planning and future S/4HANA transformation initiatives.
- Provide guidance on SAP AFS-specific processes, configurations, custom developments, and best practices.
- Partner with functional and technical teams to design scalable, supportable SAP solutions.
- Support complex production issues, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis (RCA).
- Conduct architecture and solution reviews to improve system quality, stability, and maintainability.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, enterprise architects, functional teams, and AMS resources.
- Mentor SAP delivery teams on architecture standards, design principles, and best practices.
- Evaluate enhancement requests and determine appropriate solution approaches and impacts.
- Ensure SAP solutions align with business requirements and long-term technology strategy.
Required Qualifications
- 10 years of SAP experience, including significant Solution Architect responsibilities.
- Deep hands-on expertise in SAP AFS (Apparel & Footwear Solution).
- Strong SAP ECC architecture and production support experience.
- Proven experience implementing, migrating, or supporting SAP S/4HANA.
- Strong SAP integration architecture experience.
- Experience working in SAP AMS and enhancement-driven support environments.
- Strong understanding of SAP custom development landscapes.
- Strong knowledge of SAP SD, MM, and FI/CO.
- Understanding of supply chain processes and SAP integrations.
- Experience with retail, apparel, footwear, or fashion industry processes.
- Strong client-facing consulting, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
