Job Description
We are seeking a motivated Data Center Technician to support daily operations at our Reston, VA facility. The ideal candidate will have foundational IT knowledge, hands-on hardware experience, and a strong willingness to learn and grow in a fast-paced data center environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform hardware installation, configuration, and maintenance of servers, storage systems, and networking devices
- Assist with racking, stacking, cabling, and physical audits
- Monitor data center infrastructure, including power, cooling, and environmental controls
- Troubleshoot hardware issues and coordinate with senior engineers or vendors for resolution
- Perform routine system checks and maintain accurate documentation
- Support remote teams with on-site tasks and technical requests
- Adhere to data center safety, security, and operational procedures
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (required)
- 1 year of experience in IT support, hardware, or data center operations
- Basic understanding of servers, networking concepts, and operating systems
- Ability to lift/move hardware (up to 40–50 lbs) and work in data center environments
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work in shifts or on-call when required
