Georgia Youth Justice Coalition seeks a full-time Narrative Manager ​to strengthen our public story to move our base, influence the debate, and win meaningful change.

Our work to engage communities, activate youth, and promote civic education empowers young Georgians as changemakers within their communities. About the Position

As the Narrative Manager, you will work directly with the Deputy Executive Director of Development and Narrative, youth staff, and youth volunteers to ensure our message is clear and disciplined across earned and paid media, direct voter contact, and issue education materials. The ideal candidate for the role is a language person who writes quickly and with precision. They are a rigorous researcher, persuasive copywriter, and grounded relationship-builder who understands how to turn real conversations into language our base can repeat, share, and own. They believe strong messaging moves beyond jargon and equips young Georgians, canvassers, and community leaders with words that travel.


Role Responsibilities

  • Draft and maintain talking points, message guidance, and press materials that align our work and our strategy across organizing, advocacy, and media engagement.
  • Monitor political developments, share relevant information with the team, and produce timely rapid response materials grounded in GYJC’s values and priorities.
  • Conduct research and translate policy and electoral issues into accessible narrative products such as canvasser talking points or issue explainers for our base.
  • Build and maintain relationships with reporters, young Georgians, and community leaders to lift up authentic voices and shape the political conversation statewide.
  • Knock doors, make calls, and high traffic canvass to elevate powerful stories within our community and ensure messaging resonates with our base and our voters.

  • Communicate proactively with your manager and your teammates when challenges arise, offering direct, respectful feedback and solutions-oriented thinking.
  • Approach youth leadership with real respect and care, recognizing their skills, insight, experience, and development as essential to organizational decisions and success.
  • Foster and maintain a positive, productive team culture.


Qualifications

  • Ability to write clearly, translating complex ideas into persuasive messaging.
  • Sound judgment in handling media relationships and sensitive information with care.
  • Culturally competent in building and maintaining relationships across lines of difference such as race, class, sexual orientation, or gender identity.
  • Excellent time management skills, attention to detail, and flexibility with a willingness to meet and exceed goals, implement feedback, and problem-solve effectively.
  • Strong commitment to progressive values and to do the work that needs to be done.
  • Have a driver’s license, automobile insurance, and access to a reliable vehicle.


Working at the Georgia Youth Justice Coalition

This is a full-time, permanent position that reports to the Deputy Executive Director of Development and Narrative. Car travel within the state of Georgia will be required 20-25% for general execution of the role. We offer a generous benefits package which includes unlimited PTO; professional development stipend; and insurance plans for health, dental, and vision. Applicants must live in or be willing to relocate to Georgia for this in person role.


Salary: $47,000 - $55,000 based on experience
