Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Custom Handrail Installer to join our construction team. This role involves installing custom handrails and related architectural features on various construction sites, ensuring safety, durability, and aesthetic appeal. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in carpentry, fabrication, and blueprint reading, with the ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team. Prior experience with construction site procedures and various power tools is essential for success in this position.
Duties
- Measure, cut, and assemble custom handrails according to project specifications and blueprints.
- Install handrails securely on stairs, balconies, ramps, and other architectural features using appropriate fasteners and techniques.
- Read schematics, blueprints, and construction drawings to determine precise installation requirements.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment safely to complete installations efficiently.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, and other trades such as plumbing, electrical, or masonry teams to ensure seamless integration of the handrails into the overall construction process.
- Perform site inspections to verify proper alignment, stability, and safety compliance of installed handrails.
- Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and disposing of debris appropriately.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and building codes during installation procedures.
Skills
- Proficiency in blueprint reading and schematics interpretation.
- Experience with fabrication techniques including welding, concrete forming, plastering, framing carpentry, drywall installation, and masonry is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of construction management practices and estimating processes.
- Ability to operate hand tools (e.g., saws, drills TIG and MIG welding machines ), power tools (e.g., grinders, sanders professional and safely )
- Familiarity with construction site safety standards and inspection procedures.
- Experience with glazing (glass installation)caulking, welding and polishing techniques
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail for precise measurements and installations.
