|URGENT| Industrial Painters Needed!

The Painter prepares surfaces for painting and finishing; applies undercoats and finish coats using the full range of application methods and materials; mixes and matches paints and finishes; advises in the selection and storage of painting materials. Maintains equipment. Performs related work as required.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Read job orders and inspect workpieces to determine work procedures and materials required.
• Clean surfaces of workpieces in preparation for coating, using cleaning fluids, solvents, brushes, steam or sandblasting.
• Apply coatings to protect surfaces, using spray guns or brushes.
• Examine finished surfaces of workpieces to verify conformance to specifications and retouch any defective areas.
• Clean and maintain tools and equipment, using solvents, brushes, and rags.
• Rinse, drain, or wipe coated workpieces to remove excess coating material or to facilitate setting of finish coats on workpieces.
• Place coated workpieces in ovens or dryers for specified times to dry or harden finishes.

Required Education and Experience

• High School Diploma / GED
• 1-2 years of painting experience in a manufacturing or facilities operations setting
• Ability to read and interpret drawings / diagrams and specifications – paint instructions
• Ability to lift 50 lbs unassisted
• Ability to bend, stand, climb or walk around very large objects
• Ability and willingness to work overtime, evening / off shifts, weekends, and holidays
• Ability to work at heights up to 40 Feet
• Experienced with forklift operations

• Knowledge of industrial practices and processes of the manufacturing painting trade; paints, lacquers, enamels, epoxies, paint removers and related materials.
• Knowledge of application methods and practices

• Self-starter - able to work with minimal direction or supervision
