Job Summary

Perform first-line supervisory and professional law enforcement duties related to patrol, traffic control and related activities. Plan, direct and coordinate the enforcement activities of shift personnel and perform various administrative functions to assure the provision of emergency aid, security and protection to the campus. Train, instruct and monitor performance of Police Officers. Receive and resolve citizen complaints. Assist assigned officers in the timely resolution of unusual law enforcement situations. Responsible for setting employee goals, assessing employee performance and providing feedback, and making pay recommendations.

Responsibilities

Job Duty 1 -
Patrol designated areas and respond to calls for service.

Job Duty 2 -
Assist supervisor in training, scheduling, reviewing reports, evaluating performance.

Job Duty 3 -
Investigate criminal acts and traffic accidents.

Job Duty 4 -
Provide emergency response to calls for medical assistance and enforcement.

Job Duty 5 -
Evaluate officer performance in accordance with policy and ensure accurate records.

Job Duty 6 -
Identify strengths and weaknesses in officers and apply appropriate actions.

Job Duty 7 -
Provide additional training, document findings and collaborate with supervisor.

Job Duty 8 -
Provide that officers are providing the campus effective and efficient patrol methods.

Job Duty 9 -
Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
High school diploma, GED Certificate or Vocational School Diploma

Other Required Qualifications
CPR, Folicest eid, or AED certification.

Required Experience
Two to four years of job related experience

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Educational Qualifications
Technical Diploma, Associate's Degree or two years college course work

Preferred Experience
Three to five years of job related experience

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

SKILLS
effective verbal and written communications skills; demonstrated ability to exercise quick, independent and sound judgment and ability to display initiative in applying work methods; ability and experience with Remedy, electronic calendar software, PowerPoint, Excel, related officer equipment, effective typing skills

Salary Job Grade A9
Salary range is dependent on candidates experiences and skills that ranges from $75,000 - $88,000.
Due to our research contracts with the U.S. federal government, candidates for this position must be U.S. Citizens.
