About the School of City and Regional Planning at the Georgia Institute of Technology
The School of City and Regional Planning (SCaRP) is a global leader in fostering sustainable, resilient, and just communities, and is consistently ranked within the top ten planning schools in North America by Planetizen. The school's current and emeritus faculty include the previous editors of the Journal of Planning Education and Research, the Journal of Planning Literature, and the Journal of American Planning Association; the former chief planning officials of the City of Atlanta and the Georgia Regional Transportation Agency; three former presidents of the Association of Collegiate Schools of Planning; and six Fellows of the American Institute of Certified Planners. SCaRP's research is augmented by the Center for Urban Resilience and Analytics and the University Transportation Centers, as well as the Eco Urban Lab, Friendly Cities Lab, Resilient Futures Lab, Urban Climate Lab, and Resilient and Equitable Mobility Analytics and Planning Lab.
The School offers masters's degrees in city and regional planning, GIS, urban analytics, and global development, the latter two in partnership with other Georgia Tech schools. Beginning in fall 2025, the School also offers a new undergraduate degree in urban planning and spatial analytics.

The School of City and Regional Planning (SCaRP) (https://planning.gatech.edu/) at the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, GA, invites applications for a tenure-eligible Assistant Professor in City and Regional Planning in the field of housing. The position is located in Atlanta, Georgia.
The Assistant Professor is a tenure-track faculty member who performs a combination of teaching, research, and service. The candidate is expected to demonstrate an exceptional commitment to the teaching and mentoring of students and develop externally funded research trajectories.
We are seeking candidates whose work speaks to high-stakes planning issues in the housing domain. The School is especially interested in candidates who are conducting research in one or more of the following areas:
Affordability and access;
Displacement, eviction, and housing instability;
Policy, regulation, and law;
Finance, land-use, and housing markets.
Candidates whose work advances methodological innovations in housing research are particularly encouraged to apply.
