Summary
Reporting to the Vice President of Annual Giving and Data Strategy, the Manager of Data Analytics and Reporting is a technical leader responsible for delivering actionable insights that drive alumni engagement and fundraising performance. This role blends complex data analysis, reporting, and stakeholder collaboration to support broadening and deepening engagement across the Georgia Tech alumni community. The candidate will develop tools to make complex data accessible, support the strategic use of data across the organization, and provide timely reporting and strategic recommendations to leadership. This position requires technical expertise, strong customer service, and strategic thinking. It plays a key role in fostering an organization-wide culture of data-informed decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Translate business requirements into actionable specifications for data models, analytics strategies, and reporting.
- Develop and maintain dashboards and reports using tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, and Excel.
- Evaluate alumni engagement and fundraising trends across constituencies, segments, and programs.
- Deliver synthesized insights and strategic recommendations to inform fundraising and engagement strategies.
- Align engagement data collection, reporting, and utilization with industry standards (CASE Alumni Engagement Metrics) and support reporting and benchmarking efforts.
- Create standardized figures, tables, and slides on alumni engagement for internal and external reporting.
- Document and regularly update processes for reporting and data analytics including testing and specifications documentation.
- Monitor KPIs and ensure data integrity across reporting tools and systems.
- Partner with Alumni Association, Georgia Tech Foundation, and Institute colleagues to design and implement reporting solutions.
- Provide technical assistance and training to end users on reporting tools and platforms.
- Promote data literacy and strategic utilization across the organization.
- Communicate findings and recommendations clearly to stakeholders at all levels, both verbally and in writing.
Education and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required; graduate degree preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of professional data analytics and reporting experience required; background in higher education, fundraising, or non-profit environment preferred.
- Proficiency in Tableau, Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, SQL, Excel, and constituent databases (Blackbaud CRM preferred).
- Experience with data cleaning, manipulation, and exploratory data analysis.
- Detail oriented with strong project management and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Understanding of fundraising and alumni engagement best practices.
