Job Summary

Candidates must have at least one-year of low voltage experience.
Responsible for the installation, troubleshooting and maintenance of electronic communication systems, including but not limited to: Pro Sound, Paging, Intercom, Security: CCTV, Satellite and IP business music and video, Fast Food Drive-thru, central control networking systems, etc., The Electronics Systems Technician is responsible for installing and servicing the systems in the most efficient and effective manner to assure minimum down time and maximum performance. All installations and service must meet the highest quality standards set forth by Georgia Sound Communications, Inc, while assuring a professional and safe working environment. The technician is responsible for communicating system performance to the customer. Drug test and DMV records are required because van is provided.

The job will require travel to the Charleston as needed when the workload in those areas is heavier. Most nights you will be home.

Starting pay depends on experience.

Duties

· Pull cable in conduits, cable trays and open ceilings.

· Mount and connect devices, including mixers, amplifiers, music players, speakers, microphones, volume controls, touch screens, cameras, televisions, projectors, projection screens, equipment racks, car detection loops, etc.

· Install and aim small satellite dishes, including wall, post, and sled mounts.

· Assemble equipment racks, including proper wire management and labeling.

· Install drive-thru intercom and timer systems, including detection loops.

· Program and test basic configurations for programmable hardware, such as DSP systems (Biamp, Symetrix, and Q-SYS), control systems (Crestron), video recorders (Hikvision and Turing), digital signage players, satellite receivers, streaming devices, and sound masking generators.

· Coordinate with other trades or clients for needs, such as conduit, power, lifts, mounting details, and network connectivity.

· Create as-built documents for systems.

· Train clients in use of systems.

· Any other duties as job or supervisors may require.

Requirements:

· Correctly terminate basic connections: coaxial cable, category cable, punch down blocks, and terminal strips.

· Understand and use basic test equipment: voltmeter, impedance meter, satellite signal-strength meter, tone generator, and tone tracer.

· Read and understand blueprints and technical drawings.

· Basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Windows and ethernet, USB, and serial hardware connections.

· Basic networking knowledge, including ethernet terminology, switches, routers, Wi-Fi, and IP addressing.

· CTS certification is a plus.

· Drug free (random testing).

· Clean driving record.

· Climb ladders to 25 feet.

· Lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

· Work in hot conditions (South Carolina summers).

· Safely operate electric lifts.

· Safely assemble and use scaffolding.

· Safely use electric and gas power tools, including drills and saws.

· Awareness of and compliance with basic workplace safety rules, OSHA safety rules, and use of personal protection equipment (PPE)

· Self-starter, and team-player.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $23.00 per hour
