Position Summary:
A Custodian is responsible for maintaining a cleanly and sanitary facility by completing a variety of cleaning tasks. Their duties include sweeping, mopping and vacuuming floors, cleaning surfaces with disinfectant and emptying trash cans.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Clean the interior of buildings including floors, carpet, rugs, window and walls.
- Disinfect commonly used items and touch points like door handles, tools and phones.
- Maintain cleaning inventory and requesting supplies as needed.
- Maintain outdoor grounds, pick up trash and empty smoking receptacles.
- Replace air filters and lights
- Empty trash
- Vacuum, sweep and mop floors
- Clean and maintain restrooms and breakrooms
- Washing and clean windows and mirrors
- Notify Supervisor of safety concerns and repairs
- Operate floor scrubber and other equipment
- Dust furniture
- Ensure all paper towel, soap, toilet paper and hand sanitizer dispensers are filled.
- Remove empty pallets and tubes from the production floor.
- Ensure all exits, exit routes, fire extinguishers, safety stations and electric panels are not blocked or dirty.
- Use forklift to remove larger items such at trash dumpster and pallets
Skills and Abilities:
- Good communication skills
- Knowledge of various cleaning products and when to use them
- Ability to clean and disinfect various surface
- Ability to life and move at least 50 pounds
- Good organization skills
- Knowledge of safety guidelines when working with cleaning chemicals
- Excellent time-management skills
- Can operate a forklift
Education/Experience/Certification:
- Minimum of High School Diploma or General Education Diploma
- Minimum of 1 year custodian experience required
- Minimum of 1 year forklift driving experience required
