Job Overview
Under the supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor, the Maintenance Mechanic performs assigned tasks in an efficient and safe manner to maintain equipment, buildings and structures for adequate operation.
Upholds the values of the GPA to promote Safety, Integrity, Respect, Community, Creativity and Opportunity. Promotes a safe work environment by participating in safety initiatives and reporting unsafe conditions and behaviors.
Job Duties
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Ability to operate welding machines, burning machines, forklift, JLG, scissor lift, hand and power tools, safely and efficiently.Ability and willingness to climb and work at high elevations required.General knowledge of tools associated with carpentry trade.Ability to read and follow blue prints and assembly instructions.Able to use hand and power tools.Work involves moderate to heavy lifting in all types of weather.The ability to interact and communicate effectively and professionally with the GPA staff on all levels of administration including immediate supervisor, management and co-workers required.

Job Duties
- Troubleshoots minor maintenance problems including electrical, structural, plumbing and equipment repairs.
- Performs routine electrical repairs such as changing light bulbs, or florescent bulbs, ballast and light fixtures.
- Performs routine plumbing such as unstopping toilets, sinks or urinals, fixing water leaks, leaking faucets, or water fountains.
- Performs carpentry repairs.
- Performs preventive building maintenance duties, caulk windows and doors, repair and replace broken windows.
- Repair and replace door knobs or locks, panic hardware and keys, repairs door closures, and patch holes in wall.
- Performs miscellaneous burning, welding and other assigned tasks.
- Performs repairs and other duties at high altitudes.
- Performs repairs to roadways, concrete and asphalt.

Experience
- Steel fabrication and mechanical aptitude and at least 5 years experience in carpentry, welding or electrical Required
- Required High School Diploma or equivalent
- TWIC - Transportation Worker Identification Credential Required
- Driver's License - Valid state driver's license Required
