Job Overview
Under the supervision of the Director of Operations -- Ocean Terminal Project, the General Manager of Operations is responsible for the developing, implementing, and executing operational processes to support the Ocean Terminal Project and ongoing business objectives of the Georgia Ports Authority's growth strategy.

Job Duties
- Lead implementation of operational processes as defined in Ocean Terminal project documentation. Coordinates with internal departments and external partners to ensure successful operational startup.
- Effectively communicates operational specification and process to internal and external system providers to ensure operational needs are met, and solutions are developed to meet defined standards.
- Lead and provide operational support for application and system development.
- Organize training for internal and external stakeholders to ensure end users are sufficiently trained to meet operational requirements as it relates to operating equipment, comprehension of workflows, and utilizing the system.
- Manage day-to-day operation of modernized container facility including yard, vessel, gate and intermodal operations.
- Develop and maintain roles and responsibilities and training materials for operations team.
- Collaborate with I.T. and equipment maintenance teams to ensure that systems and equipment are maintaining optimal operational performance.
- Manage departmental administrative and training duties and requirements.
- Regularly monitor and improve metrics (KPIs) to optimize operations.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and process creation for improved safety and operational efficiency.
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams to implement current policies and procedures, as well as developing new procedures that are aligned with company goals and safety standards.
- Develop and maintain good communication and relationships with all departments at GPA as well as all port partners, including State and Federal agencies.
- Prepares and reviews evaluations of departmental employees. Conducts regular business meetings with departmental employees.

Experience
- 4-6 years in marine terminal operations Preferred
- Strong understanding of marine port terminal operations and related technologies. Required
- Required Bachelor's Degree in Business or a related field
- TWIC - Transportation Worker Identification Credential Required Upon Hire
- Driver's License - Valid state driver's license Required Upon Hire
