Role Summary
The Packer will operate on the plant floor manually packing materials and produce into packages to be shipped out to customers. The role will be responsible for performing basic quality control checks including measuring, weighing, package counts, and evaluating product or package appearance. The role will interface across production teams to fold and tape boxes, apply labels, and stack boxes on pallets according to the direction and pre-established guidelines given by the Production Supervisor.

Primary Responsibilities
- Pack and stack internal and finished goods into cases following specific set of instructions and prepare them for shipping
- Make, prepare, seal, and label each box correctly, ensuring all cases are not damaged
- Ensure products are matching and retain item samples
- Verify produced items are correct by cross-referencing them with the batch order
- Remove poor quality products and those that do not meet the required specifications and place them into animal feed using retained samples as guide
- Move sealed and labeled packages onto pallets and count items according to customer specs
- Assist with allergen changeovers by using certified chemicals to hand wash equipment
- Participate in order fulfilment, floor support, and other production duties as assigned

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must wear proper personal protective equipment including uniform, face mask, hair net, latex gloves, bump cap, earplugs, and safety shoes
- Will be standing on concrete, bending, stooping, twisting, and turning for an extended period of time
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Required to work weekends during peak season and/or overtime when needed
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English required
- Must be well organized with high attention to detail
- Ability to successfully prioritize workload
- Must possesses basic reading skills, such as reading labels, formulas, and directions
- Must have general safety awareness and problem solving skills
- Knowledge of basic math including measurements, percentages, and ratios
- Dependable and adaptable to a fast-paced work environment
