Job Summary:
Georgia Northwestern Technical College is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Avionics Maintenance Technology Adjunct Instructor to be located at the Aviation Training Center, which is located at the Russell Regional Airport/J.H. Towers Field (KRMG) in Rome, Georgia, and may be required to travel to other campuses to meet operational requirements. This position will report to the Executive Director of Aviation and is responsible for delivering quality instruction methods and services to students through various resources and platform. This position requires utilizing techniques that facilitate adult learning styles and demonstrates varying techniques. Any applicant offered employment in this position is required to successfully complete a pre-employment background and drug test.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Instruct avionics courses
Prepare syllabus and other materials such as PowerPoint presentations used classroom instruction and assist with curriculum development
Manage classroom by logging attendance, and reporting no-shows, assigning and reporting grades in a timely manner, grade student assignments, as well as submit final grades
Maintain professional qualifications as appropriate for the field and as described by the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) Policy Manual
Follow rules and regulations as described by the TCSG Policy Manual, and other policies and procedures established by the institution
Support the mission and vision of the college, program and TCSG
Perform other program-related duties, as assigned
May be required to teach at other campuses/locations
Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:
FAA Mechanic Certificate with Airframe and/or Powerplant ratings. Industry certifications. Minimum of three (3) years of industry experience troubleshooting, maintaining, and installing aircraft avionics systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate Degree or higher in Avionics or Electronics technology from an accredited college or university.in related discipline. ASTM NCATT Aircraft Electronics Technician (AET) certification. FCC General Radiotelephone Operators License (GROL). Classroom management and instructional experience.
Physical Demands:
Work is typically performed in a classroom or office environment with intermittent sitting, standing, or walking in various settings. The employee occasionally lifts or moves objects to a light to medium weight. Full range of hand and finger motion may be utilized for data entry purposes. If the job involves driving, physical requirements include the ability to operate a vehicle and sit for extended periods.
Salary: paid by lumpsum semi-monthly based upon contact hours

If this is a part-time position, no benefits are available. If this is a full-time position, benefits include: 13 paid State holidays, annual and sick leave, paid parental leave, a State of Georgia benefits package that includes Health, Dental, Vision, Life, etc. A choice of two retirement systems: Teachers Retirement System of Georgia or the Employee’s Retirement System of Georgia based upon position and 401K options.
