Georgia Military College is seeking part-time Utility Workers to support the Auxiliary & Facility Operations (AFO) team in various capacities.
This position will work in various areas including, but not limited to: Grounds, Property, Maintenance, Transportation, and Custodial services. Duties for this position will be assigned by various department managers on an as needed basis as determined by the level of priority of the event or task. Primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, tasks such as setting up for, tearing down, and cleaning up after GMC related events, assisting in movements and relocation of office furniture and supplies, maintaining the cleanliness of GMC fleet vehicles, assisting with various landscaping projects, maintaining the cleanliness of GMC facilities, as well as various paint and repair projects. This position has the potential for occasional evening and/or weekend assignments. Primary duties will vary depending on the time of year and the immediate needs of GMC. This position may also require occasional day travel to other GMC locations.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Perform event set-ups and tear downs for various GMC related events.
- Assist in the movement of office furniture and supplies between locations at Main Campus, storage, and external campuses.
- Perform grounds maintenance and landscaping.
- Housekeeping duties include sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, emptying trash, etc.
- Routine cleaning of GMC fleet vehicles, golf carts, buses, and equipment. . Identifies and reports maintenance deficiencies and/or issues to Fleet Coordinator/Vehicle Scheduling and Motor Pool Maintenance Manager.
- Assist with facility maintenance and painting projects across all GMC campuses.
- Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- A valid drivers License
- Ability to lift objects as heavy as 50 lbs.
- Ability to withstand various external temperatures and conditions.
Preferred:
- High school diploma/GED equivalent strongly preferred
- Prior use and knowledge of custodial, painting, vehicle detailing, or landscaping practices.
- Basic computer skills
