Description
Job Summary: This position is responsible for performing maintenance and repair duties in campus buildings
Major Duties:
- Maintains plumbing systems by repairing fixtures, pipes, and drainage systems
- Performs rough and finished carpentry work. Designs, builds and maintains wooden structure.
- Performs masonry work, including repairing walls.
- Installs and repairs door locks.
- Fabricates and welds parts.
- Installs and maintains electrical wiring and fixtures by repairing or replacing switches, lighting receptacles and/or electrical controls.
- Assists with repairing and maintenance of heating and air conditioning systems.
- Purchases materials needed for maintenance projects.
Qualifications
- Ability to read, write and perform mathematical calculations at a level commonly associated with the completion of high school or equivalent. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for one to two years.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
