Georgia Military College (GMC) is seeking a dependable Part-Time Bus Driver to provide morning-only student transportation from the Putnam County area to GMC Prep School in Milledgeville.
This is an ideal opportunity for a qualified driver seeking a consistent, part-time morning schedule during the academic year. There is no afternoon route associated with this position.
Typical Morning Route
The driver will operate the route each day GMC Prep School is in session, approximately 180 school days across 10 months (August–May).
The typical morning schedule will include:

Approximately 5:30 a.m. – Report to GMC, pick up the assigned bus, and complete the required pre-trip inspection.

6:30 a.m. – First student pickup at a designated public location in Putnam County.

Approximately 6:50 a.m. – Second student pickup at a designated public location near the Highway 212/US 441 area.

By 7:20 a.m. – Deliver students to GMC Prep School in Milledgeville.

Following student drop-off, return the bus to the GMC bus garage, where it will remain until the next school morning.
Specific student pickup locations will be provided to the selected candidate.
Compensation
This position pays $7,700 for the academic-year route, paid in regular monthly installments from August through May.
*Criminal background check and drug screen must be cleared before any candidate may begin working.

Qualifications:Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

Minimum of one year of experience driving students

Ability to troubleshoot basic mechanical issues and use basic tools to address minor vehicle issues as appropriate.

Ability to reliably report for the early-morning route on each scheduled GMC Prep School instructional day.
Preferred Qualifications

Valid Georgia Class A or Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Passenger and School Bus endorsements and no air brake restriction.

Three or more years of commercial, school, or charter bus driving experience.

Basic mechanical experience.
