Senior IT Project Manager
Location: Sacramento, CA (Hybrid)

Role Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior IT Project Manager to partner closely with DHCS executive leadership and lead large-scale, enterprise IT initiatives. This role focuses on portfolio governance, PMO maturity, and driving organizational transformation across complex programs.
Key Responsibilities
Align IT project portfolios with departmental objectives and federal funding requirements
Lead large, complex IT initiatives across the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
Enhance and mature Enterprise PMO methodologies, including portfolio prioritization and cross-program alignment
Centralize project management services to manage enterprise-level risks, issues, and change controls
Define and implement standardized project management processes, procedures, and best practices
Provide executive-level reporting and visibility into portfolio-wide risks, dependencies, and impacts
Collaborate directly with senior executives and key stakeholders to ensure successful delivery
Required Qualifications
Active PMP Certification (PMI) – digital credential or PDF required
15 years of overall professional experience, including:
7 years of hands-on Project Management experience
4 years managing large, complex IT projects
Strong experience working with executive and senior leadership
Deep understanding of project management methodologies, tools, and SDLC best practices
Healthcare experience, particularly Medicare / Medicaid programs
Prior experience working with California state agencies
