Role Description The Hospice CNA is a full-time, on-site role based in Dalton, GA. This position provides direct personal care to hospice patients, including assistance with bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and mobility in accordance with the plan of care. The Hospice CNA monitors and reports changes in patients’ physical and emotional status to the nursing team, supports comfort measures, and helps maintain a safe environment. Daily responsibilities include documenting care, following infection control and safety protocols, and collaborating closely with nurses, social workers, and other team members. The role also involves offering respectful emotional support to patients and families and upholding the core values of compassion, dignity, and quality at all times.
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification and demonstrated competency in direct patient care
- Experience or training in Hospice Care, Hospice Nursing, and End-of-Life Care practices
- Foundational Nursing knowledge and ability to follow nursing care plans and clinical instructions
- Strong communication, empathy, and active listening skills when working with patients, families, and team members
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including safe patient transfers and positioning
- Reliability in maintaining accurate documentation and adhering to safety and infection control policies
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation, if required for travel between patient locations
- Previous hospice, palliative, or long-term care experience preferred but not required
