Georgia Elementary Middle School Interim Athletic Director

Georgia Elementary and Middle School recognizes the important role athletics plays in enriching our students’ educational experience. We are seeking an energetic, experienced, and confident Interim Athletic Director who is passionate about working with students in grades 5–8, families, coaches, and school staff. The Interim Athletic Director is responsible for the direction and management of all athletic programs for students in grades 5–8. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong communication and organizational skills and a commitment to creating a positive experience for student-athletes. This individual will set the standard for exemplary sportsmanship, healthy habits, teamwork, and character. The Interim Athletic Director reports to the School Principal. The Interim Athletic Director will: Approach all aspects of the role through an equity lens and a strong belief in what is possible for every student. Will attend and support home games. Communicate effectively with students, families, school staff, administrators, area athletic directors, officials, and community partners. Be committed to maximizing the athletic experience for GEMS students. Oversee the school’s athletic facilities and coordinate practices, games, and other athletic events. Communicate schedules, locations, changes, and other important information in a timely manner. Use strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills to support the needs of athletic programs, coaches, student-athletes, and families. Help ensure compliance with all applicable athletic laws, regulations, and policies, including Title IX, federal and state requirements, and Vermont Principals’ Association Middle School policies. Build and maintain strong partnerships between the school and families. Promote excellence, sportsmanship, teamwork, and strong character among coaches and student-athletes. Maintain an accurate inventory of athletic uniforms, supplies, and equipment. Experience working in an educational setting is preferred. The search will begin immediately, and the selected candidate will begin upon hire.
