- Develop and implement age-appropriate dance curricula that incorporate various styles such as praise or hip hop or cultural dance form
- Lead lively dance classes and workshops that encourage participation, creativity, and self-expression among children of diverse backgrounds
- Manage classroom behavior effectively to create a positive learning environment that promotes respect and collaboration
- Incorporate elements of theater, movement improvisation, and storytelling into dance lessons to enhance engagement
- Support children with special needs or early childhood development requirements by adapting activities as needed
- Collaborate with camp staff to coordinate performances or showcases that highlight students’ progress and celebrate their achievements
- Maintain safety standards during all activities and ensure proper use of equipment such as mirrors, props, or costumes
- Prior experience teaching dance to children or in an educational setting is highly preferred
- Strong background in curriculum development tailored for early childhood or school-age students
- Classroom management skills with the ability to foster a respectful and inclusive atmosphere
- Experience working with children with diverse needs, including special education or preschool experience
- Knowledge of various dance styles such as modern, praise , or cultural dances; additional skills in theater or movement arts are a plus
- Familiarity with lesson planning and behavior management strategies for young learners
- Additional skills in photography, sewing for costume creation, culinary arts related to nutrition education, or childcare are considered valuable assets
