Correctional Officer I

Job Summary
The Correctional Officer plays a crucial role in maintaining safety and security within correctional facilities. This position involves overseeing the daily activities of inmates, ensuring compliance with facility rules, and promoting a safe environment for both staff and inmates. The ideal candidate will possess strong conflict management skills and a commitment to upholding the law while demonstrating professionalism at all times.

Duties

• Monitor inmate behavior and enforce facility regulations to maintain order.
• Conduct regular inspections of the facility, including surveillance via CCTV systems.
• Respond promptly to incidents or emergencies, applying first aid and CPR as necessary.
• Document daily activities, incidents, and inmate interactions through detailed report writing.
• Facilitate communication between inmates and staff while addressing any conflicts that arise.
• Participate in training sessions related to law enforcement practices and conflict resolution techniques.
• Assist in the rehabilitation process by providing support and guidance to inmates.

Experience

• Previous experience in law enforcement or a military background is preferred but not required. We will train the right candidate to meet the skills that we need.
• Strong report writing skills are essential for documenting incidents accurately.
• Experience in conflict management techniques will be beneficial for maintaining order within the facility.
• Experience working with a Tablet will be useful
