Job Summary
The Theatre and Dance Assistant will, under general supervision, perform a variety of duties in the planning, construction, operation and maintenance of theatre production including stage, scenery, sound, lighting, costume and prop construction and administrative operations The Theatre and Dance Assistant will, under general supervision, perform a variety of duties in the planning, construction, operation and maintenance of theatre and dance production including stage, scenery, sound, lighting, costume and prop construction and administrative operations.
Responsibilities
Assist in the Scene Shop - 17%
Will assist the TD with operations in the Scene Shop - 17%
Assist in the Costume Shop - 17%
Will assist the Costume Shop Supervisor with operations in the Costume Shop - 17%
Assist in Lighting - 16%
Will assist the production manager with lighting tasks - 16%
Assist in Props - 17%
Will assist the production manager with props construction and storage - 17%
Assist in Dance - 17%
Will assist dance faculty with administrative tasks - 17%
Assist in Theatre Office - 16%
Will assist the Office Coordinator with administrative tasks - 16%
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
High School diploma
Other Required Qualifications
Enrolled at GCSU as a Theatre Major or Minor or Dance Minor
Required Experience
Must have experience in one of the shop areas of the Theatre Department: Scene Shop, Costume Shop, Lighting, Props, Dance or Office.
Proposed Salary
$15.00 / hour
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
ABILITIES
Must be able to lift and carry heavy items
SKILLS
Need to be able to safely operate power tools, sewing machines and lighting equipment.
