What are the responsibilities and job description for the Surgical Technician II position at Georgia Center for Sight Surgery Center?
Company Overview
Georgia Center for Sight offers a full spectrum of vision care while providing the highest quality patient care. We offer eye care for the entire family, including exams and treatment for Dry Eye Relief, Glaucoma, Macular Degeneration, and Diabetes. We also offer Refractive Cataract and Standard Cataract surgery at our in-house ambulatory surgery center. In addition, we also offer other refractive correction procedures including LASIK and PRK.
Position Summary
We are now hiring a Certified Surgical Technician to assist surgeons by preparing, maintaining and anticipating instrument and procedural needs for all surgical procedures in accordance to regulatory standards.
Responsibilities
• Obtaining supplies from other areas as needed• Returning supplies and equipment to the appropriate location• Assisting in keeping the Central Sterile area neat and orderly• Effecting handling health or safety hazards for self and patients• Reporting any unusual occurrences or incidents accurately to the Clinical Director• Performing other duties as required
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience
- Maintains current Surgical Technician Certification
- Maintains current BCLS certification and completion of required annual in-services
- Ability to work in a surgery center environment with healthcare interactions that include patient contact, hazardous chemicals, and infectious disease under a moderate level of noise
- Must be able to understand and follow instruction with speed and accuracy
- Must be able to organize and set priority for work to be done
- Possesses manual dexterity, mobility, visual acuity, standing, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, attendance, and good interpersonal skills
