The Closer is responsible for the timely and seamless closing and funding of all loan transactions that have received final approval from underwriting. The closer’s primary job duties include providing excellent customer service, working with their mortgage team, preparing closing packages, closing instructions, wire requests and coordinating settlement with the closing attorney. The loan closer will conduct comprehensive reviews of all loan packages in order to ensure that loans are closed and disbursed in accordance with regulatory requirements (TRID), investor rules and GBC policy.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
The Closer is responsible for the timely and seamless closing and funding of all loan transactions that have received final approval from underwriting. The closer’s primary job duties include providing excellent customer service, working with their mortgage team, preparing closing packages, closing instructions, wire requests and coordinating settlement with the closing attorney. The loan closer will conduct comprehensive reviews of all loan packages in order to ensure that loans are closed and disbursed in accordance with regulatory requirements (TRID), investor rules and GBC policy.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Review and audit pre-closing mortgage loan file for accuracy and underwriting conditions and then prepare closing package.
- Interact with settlement agents, customers, loan officers, and processors daily in a professional manner.
- Prepare required documents necessary for the loan to close in compliance with TRID regulations and investor requirements.
- Responsible for reviewing and approving the CD and insuring it meets the Underwriting guidelines prior to reconciling the numbers with the closing attorney.
- Send final approved CD and the closing package to the attorney to be signed at closing.
- Prepare wire request and submit to warehouse funding or accounting for processing.
- Demonstrate excellent customer service and problem-solving skills with all parties to the loan transaction before, during, and after closing.
- Assist in the post-closing audit/review of packages returned from the closing attorney, as needed.
- Other duties as needed.
- This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or 3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Requires a minimum of 3 years of experience closing Conventional, FHA, USDA, VA and portfolio loans, including significant experience closing loans under TRID.
- Experience with online doc preparation systems and a paperless work environment; Ellie Mae Encompass 360 experience is a plus.
- HELOC and construction loan closing experience is a plus.
