Position Title:            Network Engineer - Apprentice

Department:            1320 - Information Technology

Classification:           Non-exempt /Part Time           

Direct Report:           Network Systems Engineer

Position Summary:

A Network Engineer (Junior Level) Apprentice at Georgia Aquarium is responsible for assisting with maintain, monitoring and updating network systems. Position requires strong troubleshooting skills using industry standard methods.

Responsibilities:

1. Assist with the day-to-day operational support for the network
2. Install, configure, and maintain network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access
3. Troubleshoot and resolve network issues, such as connectivity, performance, security, and configuration
4. Monitor and analyze network performance and
5. Document and update network diagrams, policies, procedures, and
6. Assist senior network engineers with network design, planning, and implementation
7. Provide technical support and guidance to end-users and other IT
8. Research and evaluate new network technologies and
9. Follow industry standards and best practices for network security and

 Qualifications:

1. 1-2yrs experience in network systems, and infrastructure
2. Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Computer Science, or related field
3. CompTIA A , Network ,
4. Excellent Communications and Customer service skills
5. Demonstrate proficiency in troubleshooting networking and firewall issues, HPE/Aruba, Meraki, and Cisco.
