Requirements Job Overview The Research Navigator role will conduct activities related to two ongoing projects related to cancer clinical trial accrual and education at Georgetown University’s Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center. The incumbent will recruit patients from the community and those on clinical trials, conducting work according to the project protocols, standard operating procedures, HIPAA, and human subjects’ protection guidelines. The Research Navigator is responsible for screening clinic schedules, obtaining informed consent on all eligible and interested participants, conducting epidemiologic surveys and focus groups related to clinical trials. In addition, the navigator will be responsible for collecting clinical trial education-related surveys and outcomes in the clinic. The role also involves serving as a liaison between the patient and community-based clinical trial educators/champions to increase understanding of the importance of participating in clinical trials among cancer patients. Work Interactions This position plays a key role in establishing and maintaining Georgetown Lombardi’s reputation in the community and trust with the patient. The navigator will be an integral part of established project teams and will work closely with the project Principal Investigators. Requirements and Qualifications Master’s degree in epidemiology or related public health major 3 years’ required experience with EHR systems, clinical & research database software Excellent verbal and written communication skills, analytical abilities, and interpersonal skills Work Mode Designation This position has been designated as On-Campus. Pay Range: The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is: $44,022.00 - $73,406.80 Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University’s business needs and external factors.
