Job Overview

The Accreditation Assistant will assist the Compliance Manager with planning, implementing, and monitoring the accreditation program for the Georgetown University Police Department (GUPD), operating with minimal supervision. This role supports departmental operations by coordinating and prioritizing multiple projects and tasks simultaneously while ensuring compliance with accreditation standards and organizational policies. The Accreditation Assistant will demonstrate a strong understanding of the department’s organizational structure and operational systems and contribute to the continuous improvement of departmental processes.

Additional Duties, Include, But Are Not Limited To

  • Maintain the department’s accreditation program to ensure compliance with applicable accreditation standards
  • Monitor accreditation requirements, deadlines, and documentation to support successful accreditation and reaccreditation processes
  • Coordinate the collection, organization, and maintenance of accreditation files, policies, and supporting documentation
  • Assist with internal reviews and audits to ensure departmental policies and procedures align with accreditation standards
  • Prepare reports, summaries, and presentations related to accreditation activities and departmental compliance

Work Interactions

This position reports to the Compliance Manager and operates with general supervision while maintaining a high level of independence in performing assigned duties. The incumbent regularly supports departmental initiatives and accreditation requirements.

Requirements And Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, or a related field (or equivalent combination and experience).
  • Experience in program coordinator, compliance, accreditation, or administrative operations.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office or similar productivity software.

Preferred Requirements

  • Experience working in a law enforcement or public safety environment.
  • Familiarity with law enforcement accreditation standards (e.g., CALEA or similar accreditation programs)
  • Experience with compliance monitoring, or strategic planning initiatives.
  • Professional communication and reporting.
  • Collaboration and coordination with Compliance Manager.

Pay Range

The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is:

$44,022.00 - $73,406.80

Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University’s business needs and external factors.
