as soon as possibleJOB DESCRIPTIONCooks food, either prepared and/or from scratch, for the purpose of meeting projected meal requirements.
Oversees the preparation, cooking, serving of food and beverage items for the purpose of meeting projected meal quantities, and mandated nutritional and health standards and ensuring appealing presentation.
Estimates food preparation and amounts and adjusts recipes, if required, for the purpose of meeting projected meal requirements and minimizing waste of food items.
Evaluates prepared food for flavor, appearance and temperature for the purpose of presenting items that will be accepted by students and staff.
Maintains high standards of food quality and appearance. Utilizes cooking methods to preserve nutrient content.Batch cooking is used to avoid long holding times for food items.
Follow standards of safety in receiving, preparing, serving, cooling and storing food.
Prepare, serve, and collect money for the breakfast program.
Implements menu plans for the purpose of meeting student's mandated daily nutritional requirements.
Arranges food and beverage items for the purpose of serving them to students and staff in an efficient manner.
Oversees the cleaning of utensils, equipment, and the storage, food preparation, and serving areas for the purpose of maintaining sanitary conditions.
Inspects food items and or/supplies for the purpose of verifying quantity, quality, and specifications or orders and /or complying with mandated health standards.
Inventories food, condiments, and supplies for the purpose of ensuring availability of items required for meeting projected menu requirements.Maintains equipment, storage, food preparation and serving areas in a sanitary condition for the purpose of complying with current health standards.
Order needed food and supplies.Receive all deliveries, checking order with packing slips for approval and promptly putting all items in appropriate storage areas.
Maintain all required records and forward required reports to Food Service Director.
Supervise and train assigned personnel.
Ensure that established health and safety procedures are followed.
Other related work as required.

Experience working in a fast-paced environment.Ability to lift thirty (30) pounds independently and fifty (50) pounds with assistance.
