Academic Interventionist, Middle High School (ELL, ESL)

There is an open position in the Georgetown Public Schools. POSITION: Academic Interventionist, English Language Learners LOCATION: Georgetown Middle/High School SUPERVISOR: Classroom teacher and Building Principal HOUR RATE: $32.00, three (3) hours per day START DATE: immediate WORK YEAR: school year days JOB DESCRIPTION The ELL Interventionist will be providing daily small group targeted instruction based on classroom and assessment data within our MTSS model. The interventionist will work closely with the District ELL Coordinator to support proficiency in listening, speaking, reading, and writing. The successful candidate will have school-based experience and knowledge of 6-12 educational practices. Strong knowledge in language development, is preferred. The candidate will be expected to work collaboratively with the District ELL Coordinator, teachers, other paraprofessionals, and service providers within the school to provide the best possible education for all students. Developing positive relationships with students and staff is at the core of what will make the candidate successful in this position. This individual will work under the general supervision of the classroom teacher, building principal, and/or another designated administrator. JOB REQUIRMENTS Minimum Bachelor’s Degree, Master's Degree preferred ESL or ELL DESE license, preferred. Experience working with children. Demonstrated ability to establish positive & supportive relationships with students. Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality regarding student(s), family, and school information. Demonstrated ability to provide academic instruction to students with educational disabilities and/or learning deficits. OTHER This position is NOT eligible for the Town's health insurance, contractual sick days & personal days, and tuition reimbursement. EVALUTION Performance of this position will be evaluated annually in writing by the Principal.
