Role Description The Assistant Principal is a full-time, on-site role located in Georgetown, TX, supporting campus leadership and daily school operations. This position assists the Principal in supervising instructional programs, guiding teachers and staff, and promoting a positive, safe, and inclusive school climate. The Assistant Principal helps manage student discipline, attendance, and behavior support systems, and works closely with families to address academic and behavioral needs. Responsibilities include supporting campus improvement plans, coordinating assessments and data use, and ensuring compliance with district and state policies. The role also involves participating in staff evaluations, leading professional development, and collaborating with counselors, special programs, and community partners to meet diverse student needs.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated leadership skills in K–12 education, including experience supporting teachers, managing school operations, and promoting a positive campus culture.
- Strong instructional leadership abilities, with knowledge of curriculum, assessment, and data-driven decision-making to improve student outcomes.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for working with students, staff, families, and community partners in a collaborative manner.
- Experience with student support and behavior management, including implementing equitable discipline practices and social-emotional supports.
- Organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, and respond calmly to urgent issues.
- Understanding of state and district policies, compliance requirements, and special programs (such as special education, multilingual learners, and intervention services).
- Relevant educational background, typically a master’s degree in education, educational leadership, or a related field, and appropriate Texas administrative or principal certification (or eligibility to obtain).
- Prior experience as a classroom teacher and/or campus instructional leader in a public school setting; experience in a diverse, inclusive school community is highly beneficial.
