Job Title: Temporary Academic Instructional Assistant - Grant Funded (.5 ELA / .5 Math)
Supervisor(s): Principal, Assistant Principal, and/or Teacher
FLSA: Non-Exempt
Terms of Employment: 180 days (7.5 hours daily - temp)
Job Summary: To assist the teacher in providing developmentally appropriate activities for individual and small groups in ELA and Math.
Qualifications:

Associates degree, or at least two years of study (60 semester hours) at an accredited institution of higher education, or by passing the ParaPro Assessment (ETS.org). The minimum passing score on this test is 456. (Para Pro Assessment valid until August 31, 2026) *New exam available starting September 1, 2025 - Passing the ParaPathways exam.
- Reading & Writing (5758): minimum passing score - 332
- Mathematics (5759): minimum passing score - 334
- Specialized training
- History of previous job experience required
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable
Essential Duties:
- Works with individual students or small groups of students to reinforce learning of material or skills as directed by the teacher
- Monitor student assignemtns in ELA/Math
- Assists the teacher in devising special strategies for reinforcing material or skills based on a sympathetic understanding of individual students, their needs, interests, and abilities
- Maintains the same high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students as is expected of fully licensed teachers
- Participates in in-service training programs, as assigned
- Understands and actively supports the school’s renewal plan through the activities and duties of the assigned position
- Supervisor may assign other duties as needed
