George Thomas has partnered with a global packaging manufacturer who are actively hiring for a Director of Communications to join their growing team.
You will play an important role in driving their culture forward, focused on engagement, collaboration and accountability.
Guiding both internal and external communications strategy you will ensure the successful execution of related marketing initiatives across the business. In this role, you’ll help to shape and implement programs that foster employee engagement, elevate company branding, and drive impactful product and solution marketing.
Location: The position is hybrid, but will require you to be in office 3 days per week in Richmond VA.
How You Will Add Value to the Team
- Drive the creation of compelling marketing communications in partnership with Strategic Marketing, developing targeted product messaging, sales enablement materials, and integrated marketing campaigns.
- Deliver exceptional support on trade show participation and the rollout of marketing programs that boost brand awareness and generate growth opportunities.
- Collaborate with the company’s leadership team to produce content and programs that fuel employee engagement, strengthen internal alignment to company goals, and advance the company's external brand reputation.
- Lead all aspects of communications strategy, serving as a brand steward, championing employee engagement initiatives, and managing communications infrastructure and tools. Oversee agency relationships and manage communication budgets while ensuring consistency and quality in company assets and messaging platforms.
Position Requirements Include:
- You thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and possess:
- A Bachelor’s degree with 8-10 years of experience in marketing, corporate communications, public relations, or project management.
- Comprehensive knowledge of PR and media outreach, strong agency management experience, and familiarity with a variety of communications platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to work with urgency, own projects from start to finish, and consistently deliver results.
- Superior written and verbal communication abilities.
- Well-developed strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Collaborative ethos, with a desire to connect with colleagues across departments to better understand and communicate the impact of the business on customers.
- Excellent project management, organizational, and budgeting skills.
- Experience launching new initiatives to support brand, product, and internal engagement strategies.
- Willingness and ability to travel nationally and internationally up to 10%.
