Job Location: 2040 Alum Creek, Columbus OH, 43207; various job sites.
General Overview: The Fuel Driver is responsible for fueling Company equipment by traveling to and from assigned job sites. This individual plays a critical role in supporting field operations by ensuring equipment is fueled, serviced, and ready for use. This individual plays a critical role in supporting field operations by ensuring equipment is fueled, serviced, and ready for use. Responsibilities
- Performs pre-trip and post-trip inspections in accordance with Company policies and applicable regulations
- Fuels Company equipment at assigned job sites
- Greases equipment as part of routine preventative maintenance
- Checks and maintains proper fluid levels on Company equipment
- Coordinates daily fueling routes with Lead Fuel Drivers and team members
- Safely transports and dispenses fuel in accordance with Company policies and regulatory requirements
- Inspects fueling equipment and reports maintenance or safety concerns
- Maintains accurate fueling and service records
- Works safely in a variety of weather and job site conditions
- Knows and adheres to all Company policies and procedures
- Other duties as assigned
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements required
- Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening. (George J. Igel & Co., Inc. is a SUPR Drug-Free Workplace and tests for marijuana)
- Must maintain an MVR (Motor Vehicle Record) that meets the Company’s eligibility
- Knowledge of safe fueling procedures for heavy construction equipment
- Knowledge of basic heavy equipment operation and construction job site safety
- Skilled in identifying equipment maintenance concerns and reporting deficiencies
- Ability to safely load, transport, and dispense fuel
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and environmental conditions
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
