Estimating Intern (Paid)
Reports to: Vice President of Estimating
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Hours: 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (One (1) Hour Lunch)
Job Location: 3500 Alum Creek Drive, Columbus, OH 43207- This position is primarily in person, with hybrid work capabilities.
Responsibilities: The Engineering Intern supports the engineering team by assisting with technical documentation, field coordination, and various aspects of project execution. This internship offers hands-on experience in civil construction, exposure to field and office operations, and the opportunity to contribute to meaningful infrastructure projects
Responsibilities:
- Assists with the design and drafting of temporary construction systems to support safe, efficient project execution
- Drafts construction plans using AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Prepares and reviews submittals in accordance with project contract requirements
- Performs quantity take-offs, develops pricing, and reviews subcontractor scopes of work
- Creates as-built drawings for submission to public and private project owners
- Occasionally supports field survey crews with layout of utilities, grades, benchmarks, concrete, and other key elements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, knowledge of grammar, spelling, and punctuation; ability to stand for extending periods of time, ability to walk extended distances, ability to communicate orally and in writing, ability to speak publicly, ability to be highly organized and accurate, ability to read and comprehend information from written materials, ability to work independently and in a team environment, ability to travel to and from the primary workplace daily, as well as to the occasional off-site locations such as job sites.
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a 2 or 4-year undergraduate degree program;
