DIESEL SCHOOL BUS MECHANIC

Location: Keasbey, NJ (Woodbridge Twp)

George Dapper, Inc. is seeking an experienced, dependable Diesel School Bus Mechanic to join our maintenance team. We are looking for a skilled professional who takes pride in their workmanship, understands the importance of vehicle safety, and can efficiently diagnose, maintain, and repair school buses.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair diesel school buses and gas vans.
• Perform preventive maintenance and routine vehicle inspections.
• Repair and maintain engines, brakes, transmissions, electrical systems, and other   mechanical components.
• Identify potential mechanical issues and address them before breakdowns occur.
• Prepare vehicles for required DOT and New Jersey school bus inspections.
• Maintain accurate service records and repair documentation.
• Ensure all work meets company safety standards and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a diesel mechanic, preferably working with school buses or commercial vehicles.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, electrical systems, brakes, and general vehicle maintenance.
• Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical problems independently.
• Experience using diagnostic equipment, power tools, and shop equipment.
• Knowledge of DOT safety requirements and preventive maintenance procedures.
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Mandatory Motor Vehicle Background Check
• Pass a Drug Test
• Have a current TB Test
• Valid Drivers’ License - CDL w/ Mechanic Endorsement A
