Job Description:
George Consulting is seeking a Network Engineer with an understanding in
working in Agile Project management and/or Development Operations environments
and to support a Department of Defense research lab.
Roles and
Responsibilities:
The Network Engineer responsibilities
will include, but are not limited to:
- Design and implement computer and information networks
(physical and virtual), such as local area networks (LAN/VLAN), wide area
networks (WAN), intranets, extranets, and other data communications networks.
- Perform network modeling, analysis, and planning.
- Configure and maintain Cisco VPN enabled network
- Research and recommend network and data communications
hardware and software.
- Able to work independently with limited
direction and be self-motivated.
- Able to work with other contractor
teammates and customers daily.
- Able to work closely with customers to
ensure deliverables meet their expectations and arrive in a timely manner.
- Attend and actively participate in team
meetings.
- Apply software patches to network assets
in response to and to mitigate vulnerability findings.
THIS POSITION REQUIRES
AN ACTIVE DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE TOP SECRET OR SECRET SECURITY CLEARANCE.
Required Skills &
Experience:
- Possess an active security clearance
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or related field.
- Citrix hypervisor experience (or other vmware experience),
- Networked Attached Storage (NAS) knowledge/experience
- Familiar with various Firewall configurations (iptables or
similar) and experience with implementing.
- Experience in computer system administration, especially
Linux (Debian, Ubuntu etc.).
