Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Civil Engineer role based in Tallahassee, FL. The Civil Engineer will perform civil engineering design for site development, transportation, and infrastructure projects, including grading, roadway layout, utilities, and stormwater systems. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing engineering plans and reports, performing calculations, analyzing data, and assisting with permitting and regulatory submissions. The role involves coordinating with project managers, other engineers, CAD technicians, and external partners to develop constructible and cost-effective designs. The Civil Engineer will also support field visits, site inspections, and construction administration activities to help ensure project quality, compliance, and adherence to project schedules.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated proficiency in Civil Engineering and Civil Engineering Design Standards for site, transportation, and infrastructure projects.
- Experience in Planning related to land development, transportation, utilities, and project phasing.
- Knowledge of Stormwater Management, including drainage design, modeling, and compliance with local and state regulations.
- Background working as part of a team of Civil Engineers, contributing to multidisciplinary projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field; EIT or PE licensure in Florida (or ability to obtain) preferred.
- Familiarity with industry-standard design software (e.g., AutoCAD/Civil 3D, stormwater modeling tools) and MS Office.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work on-site in Tallahassee, FL, manage multiple tasks, and collaborate effectively with colleagues and external partners.
