What are the responsibilities and job description for the Licensed Electrician - Maintenance position at GEORG FISCHER?
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems, wiring, fixtures, and equipment.
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical systems.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical diagrams, and electrical code specifications.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and electrical codes.
- Collaborate with other maintenance staff and departments to support facility operations.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
- Respond to emergency electrical issues promptly and effectively.
- Assist in planning and executing electrical upgrades or new installations.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or apprenticeship preferred.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in industrial or commercial electrical work.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, tools, and safety procedures.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and schematics.
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- State-issued Electrician License (must be current and valid)
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification (depending on site requirements)
- NFPA 70E Certification (Electrical Safety in the Workplace)
- CPR/First Aid Certification (preferred)
- Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) Training (required for equipment safety compliance)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable working in confined spaces, heights, and varying environmental conditions.
- Manual dexterity and physical stamina required for handling tools and equipment.
