Job Title: Damage Prevention Coordinator
GeoPoint is a land surveying company with multiple locations, specializing in land development, geomatics, geospatial mapping, commercial surveys, and subsurface utility engineering.
The Damage Prevention Coordinator role is responsible for overseeing and managing damage prevention efforts related to underground utility locating, 811 ticket management, and compliance with state and federal regulations. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of utility protection practices, excellent client relations management skills, outstanding communication abilities, and a proactive approach to safety, coordination, and problem-solving.
Essential Job Functions:
-811 Ticket Management & Utility Locating
- Serve as the primary point of contact for 811 tickets, locate requests, and damage prevention initiatives.
- Review, process, and track incoming 811 tickets to ensure timely and accurate responses.
- Coordinate with field technicians, utility owners, contractors, and municipalities to prevent damage to underground facilities.
-Damage Prevention & Mitigation
- Lead damage mitigation efforts, including incident response, corrective actions, and proactive prevention measures.
- Investigate incidents, near misses, and damages; prepare detailed reports with recommendations for prevention.
- Provide training and support to field teams on damage prevention procedures and safe digging practices.
- Participate in safety meetings, public awareness events, and outreach programs to promote safe excavation practices.
- Must actively participate in all state-level damage prevention initiatives, committees, and board meetings as a representative of the company.
-Project & Quality Management
- Manage and coordinate projects related to damage prevention, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
- Provide project oversight, documentation, and stakeholder updates throughout each project’s lifecycle.
- Work closely with the QA/QC and Training Department to ensure field performance meets company quality standards and training needs.
- Maintain accurate records and assist in data analysis for operational improvements.
-Compliance & Regulatory Oversight
- Monitor and enforce compliance with company SOPs, state 811 laws, and industry best practices.
-Client Relations & Communication
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring clear communication, responsiveness, and high levels of satisfaction.
-Travel & Additional Duties
- Travel will be required to attend meetings, trainings, site visits, and industry events.

Qualifications:
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in utility locating, 811 ticket management, or related damage prevention work.
- Strong understanding of underground utility systems, including gas, electric, water, sewer, and telecom.
- Familiarity with 811 state laws, One Call systems, and damage prevention regulations.
- Demonstrated experience in damage mitigation, project coordination, and project management.
- Excellent client relations management skills with the ability to foster trust and maintain positive, long-term partnerships.
- Exceptional organizational and communication skills.
- Proficiency with ticket management systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and recommend solutions.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure in fast-paced environments.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
