Job Title: Accounting Manager
Department: Finance & Accounting
Reports To: Vice President, Operations
Location: Evanston, IL
Key Responsibilities:
Responsible for processing daily accounting transactions (AP, AR, GL, Fixed Assets)
Responsible for day-to-day accounting activities, with a primary focus on accounts payable and journal entries
- Prepare and manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close in a fast-moving environment
- Prepare account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
- Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies, internal controls, and audits
- Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and banking partners
- Support sales tax compliance and filings
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Optimize accounting systems and tools as we scale
- Identify opportunities to automate and streamline workflows
- Support ad hoc projects, as needed
Qualification
Bachelor s degree in accounting is required
- 5 years of progressive accounting experience
- CPA preferred (or strong public accounting foundation)
- Strong understanding of GAAP and close processes
- Comfortable operating with incomplete information and evolving priorities
- Experience with accounting systems and ERPs (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle)
- Advanced Excel skills
