Job Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and strategic Production Manager to oversee manufacturing operations and lead a team of dedicated staff. The ideal candidate will be hands-on and responsible for coordinating daily production activities, maintaining quality standards, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives to meet company goals. This role offers an opportunity to drive operational excellence within a dynamic manufacturing environment of Uncrewed Aircraft Systems (UAS) for commercial and government customers. Experience in medium-volume production environments is desirable.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement production schedules to meet delivery deadlines while optimizing resource utilization.
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of production staff, including hiring, training, and performance management.
- Monitor production processes to ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards.
- Analyze production data to identify areas for improvement and implement process enhancements.
- Collaborate with engineering, quality assurance, and supply chain teams to streamline operations.
- Manage inventory levels of materials and finished goods to prevent shortages or overstocking.
- Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations and promote a safe working environment.
- Prepare reports on production metrics, efficiency, and quality control for senior management review.
Requirements
- This position requires proof of U.S. Citizenship to be eligible for employment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Management, or a related field.
- 5-10 years’ experience in manufacturing or production management, preferably within a medium-sized production volume environment and/or related industry.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop team members.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, or continuous improvement practices.
- Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Office Applications.
- Excellent communication skills for cross-departmental collaboration.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
