The Cyber Security – Operations Controller supports the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract. The candidate will:
- Ensure the health, stability, and continuous operation of critical IT security infrastructure.
- Play a vital role in situational awareness and operational continuity for mission-critical enterprise systems and services across the Department of Defense.
- Oversee day-to-day security operations, drives best practices, promotes automation, and champions continual service improvement initiatives to optimize security operations and reduce organizational risk.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for coordination of operational security activities, monitoring, and change management.
- Monitor enterprise operations for system health, availability, and performance using various monitoring tools.
- Coordinate real-time responses to outages, incidents, and service degradations; ensure timely escalation and resolution.
- Lead incident and problem management activities, including root cause analysis and remediation.
- Track and document scheduled and unscheduled service interruptions (Authorized Service Interruptions – ASIs).
- Maintain operational documentation, daily activity logs, and cybersecurity registers.
- Provide 24/7 mission support during shift-based operations, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Support operational reporting and analysis to improve situational awareness, operational tempo, and mission readiness.
- Interface with system administrators, network engineers, cybersecurity personnel, and government stakeholders.
- Manage change control processes, minimizing risk to cybersecurity services.
- Ensure team compliance with processes, procedures, and Systems Engineering principles.
- Communicate status and operational health to stakeholders, including senior leadership.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within cybersecurity operations.
- Bring a proactive approach to monitoring, coordinating, and reporting on operational status across complex IT environments.
- Have strong verbal and written communication skills
- Be able to effectively interact with senior leadership.
Requirements
Basic Requirements:
- Must have 6, or more, years of general (full-time) work experience
- May be reduced with completion of advanced education
- Must have 4, or more, years of directly related experience in IT operations management, network control center (NCC), or enterprise operations center (EOC) roles
- Must have 1, or more, years of experience working in a management or leadership role
- Must have IT Operational Management experience spanning multiple enterprise environments, including DoD and commercial.
- Must have experience in IT operations with a focus on Desktop User Experience.
- Must have a deep understanding of ITIL framework and best practices, including incident management, problem management, change management, and service release management.
- Must be familiar with enterprise monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Splunk, Netcool, HP OpenView, etc.).
- Must have a current IAT Level II (or higher) certification
- Must have, or obtain an active DoD Secret Security Clearance
- Bachelor’s degree, or higher, in computer science, Information Technology
- Have experience in a specific industry (e.g., MDA, DoD IT Operations).
- Have project management experience.
- Have an ITIL Strategic Leader certification.

Salary : $150,000 - $180,000
