We have an exciting opportunity for a Orion GN&C Engineer to join the team with GeoControls, a teammate company.

The Orion GN&C Engineer will:
- Develop and evaluate safety-critical, human rated GN&C flight software
- Develop, integrate, and test new GN&C algorithms
- Develop, integrate, and test new algorithms for evaluation of vehicle and mission performance
- Develop, integrate, and test new algorithms for trajectory optimizations
- Provide recommendations for improvements in design and software development processes
- Perform other duties as required
Requirements
Requisition Qualifications:
This position has been posted at multiple levels. Depending on the candidate's experience, requirements, and business
needs, we reserve the right to consider candidates at any level for which this position has been advertised.
- Typically requires a bachelor's degree in Engineering and a minimum of 1 year of experience in the field or in a related
area.
- Experience with Kalman filters
- Experience with development of modeling spacecraft systems performance
- Knowledge in the development of GN&C algorithms and spacecraft system analysis
- Experience with development and analysis of 6 DOF algorithms and simulations
- Experience with orbital mechanics and GN&C principles
- Experience with design, verification, testing, and operation of GN&C software
- Experience with LINUX, Python, MATLAB, Simulink, and C/C
- Experience with Git/GitLab version control
- Experience with the development of space system requirements and documents
- Ability to organize and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines and schedules with limited supervision.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and presentation skills
- Ability to work in a team environment consisting of NASA civil servants and contractor employees.
- Experience with Microsoft Office products
- Must Reside in a HUBZone OR be willing to relocate to a HUBZone

Requisition Preferences:
- Knowledge of Artificial Intelligence and/or Machine Learning
- Experience with safety-critical, human-rated embedded software development
- Experience with Object oriented software development
- Experience with Agile software development
- Experience with spacecraft rendezvous, proximity operations, and docking
- Familiarity with spacecraft docking systems.
- Working knowledge of NASA, JSC, and ISS standard practices and requirements (including safety)
- Experience with NASA flight operations and procedures
- Familiarity with NASA/JSC documentation databases and SharePoint sites
- Experience with the NASA Trick simulation architecture and JEOD (JSC Engineering Orbital Dynamics)
