SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Customer Service Manager, the Customer Service Representative provides the best possible customer satisfaction to the organization's customers by addressing and resolving customer inquiries and issues, processing orders, tracking shipments, and assist in resolving billing issues in accordance with company policies and procedures.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.

  • Answer incoming customer telephone calls. Establish and maintain positive working relationships with customers by ensuring the best possible customer satisfaction.
  • Obtain accurate information to process orders and delivery.
  • Computer skills, including Microsoft outlook and the inventory system in place at GSI
  • Prepare all assigned reports and correspondence accurately and on time, to include quote requests, product certifications, freight quotes, literature requests and daily sales reports.
  • Address and resolve complaints concerning products, price, quality, delivery and credits.
  • Enter all required information into Goldmine/Quotewerks to create and maintain the customer database, ensuring accuracy.
  • Work with outside sales representatives regarding processing of orders and customer support.
  • Complete special projects as requested.
  • Complete and maintain all required paperwork, records, documents, etc.
  • Follow and comply with all safety and work rules and regulations. Maintain departmental housekeeping standards.
  • Be able to effectively set-up and monitor shipping and receiving functions.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year of related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

  • Read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Write routine reports and correspondence
  • Speak effectively with customers and employee groups

· Spanish bilingual skills are a plus

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

  • Add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Work accurately with standard units of measure

 

COMPUTER SKILLS

  • Demonstrate the ability to use the computer system in place at GSI effectively

 

REASONING ABILITY

  • Apply common-sense reasoning to daily situations as they arise
  • Identify and help prevent issues before they develop

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Sit for extended periods and use keyboards and telephones effectively
  • Occasionally stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, and crouch
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds
  • Maintain close vision and the ability to adjust focus
