Geo Paving & Seal Coating is a growing construction company specializing in asphalt, concrete, and site improvements across Southern California. We work on both private developments and public works projects, delivering high-quality results with competitive pricing.
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced estimator with strong knowledge in asphalt and concrete construction, specifically for new construction projects. The ideal candidate understands Southern California pricing, production rates, and public works requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare detailed cost estimates for:
Asphalt paving (R&R, overlays, new paving)
Street improvement and traffic control
Concrete work (Flat work,curbs, gutters, sidewalks, ADA Upgrades , etc.)
Striping, seal coat, and site improvements
Review plans, specs, and bid documents
Perform quantity takeoffs and cost analysis
Submit competitive bids for:
Public works (city, county, Airports , schools, etc.)
Private/commercial projects
Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors for pricing
Ensure compliance with:
Prevailing wage requirements
DIR regulations (DAS-140, DAS-142, CPRs)
Track and manage multiple bids simultaneously
Requirements
✅ Proven experience estimating asphalt & concrete projects
✅ Strong knowledge of Southern California construction pricing
✅ Experience with public works bidding
✅ Familiarity with:
Greenbook standards
City standards
Caltrans specs (P-620, etc.)
✅ Ability to read and interpret plans & specifications
✅ Proficiency in takeoff/estimating software (Bluebeam, Planswift, etc.)
✅ Strong attention to detail and deadlines
Preferred
Experience working with agencies
Knowledge of production rates and field operations
Existing relationships with local suppliers/subs
