What are the responsibilities and job description for the Environmental Technician position at Geo-Logic Associates?
Geo-Logic Associates (GLA) is a privately-held, multidisciplinary, geologic, geotechnical, hydrogeologic, civil, and environmental consulting firm. Our highly experienced professionals manage projects through 29 US office locations and an office in Peru. GLA is currently seeking a full-time Environmental Technician to provide support for civil/site infrastructure, solid waste, and environmental remediation projects.
Office Location: Concord, NC
We have an immediate opening for an entry level Environmental Technician. The Environmental Technician will be performing basic trade activities, such as electrical, mechanical, plumbing, piping, carpentry, concrete work, monitoring safety regulations, and performing other duties as assigned. Position will report to the Area Manager in the Concord, NC office. Specific duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Communicates with area manager, surveyors, estimators, contractors, and project managers to ensure that projects are completed in a timely fashion.
- Understanding of the following: pump controls and piping configurations; landfill drawings and layouts; uses testing, calibration and monitoring equipment; how SCADA systems operate.
- Performs various inspections.
- Performs various maintenance tasks.
- Monitors inventories and requests equipment and supplies as needed.
- Maintains records and logs of work performed and materials and equipment used.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in Operations and Maintenance
- 1 years’ experience in any of the above listed trades.
- Candidate must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in environmental sampling
- Experience with plastic piping, electronic controls and excavating is helpful.
- Solid Waste industry experience a plus.
- OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training and current 8-hour annual HAZWOPER training
Candidate Must:
- Be eligible to work in the United States
- Pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen
- Possess a valid driver’s license
- Travel within the United States up to 50% of the time
