What are the responsibilities and job description for the Building Inspector position at Geo-Logic Associates?
Kunkel Engineering Group a Geo-Logic Associates Company is currently seeking talented, experienced Building Inspectors to support areas of Dodge, Green Lake, Washington, and Waupaca Counties. This position offers great opportunity for dynamic, motivated self-starters to work on a variety of assignments.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Read and examine plans and specifications when required.
- Perform field inspections during various stages of construction.
- Report violations and maintain files/records.
- Perform other related duties as required.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
- Extensive knowledge of local building codes and current construction procedures/technology
- Interpretation of codes in the field and ability to provide code compliant solutions.
- Must possess the ability to positively interact with the other staff members, contractors, the general public, governmental entities, and other clientele.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Good time management, organization, and attention to detail skills
- Knowledge of municipal zoning ordinances and codes
- Demonstrated ability to exercise initiative and a considerable amount of independent judgment.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- State of WI Commercial Building Inspector certification
- State of WI UDC Construction, HVAC, Plumbing and Electrical certification
- Minimum of 3 Years of experience in municipal code inspections
- Knowledge or experience with Zoning Administration (not required)
- High School or Equivalent
- Good Driving Record & valid WI driver’s license
Candidate also must meet the following criteria:
- Be eligible to work in the United States
- Possess a valid driver’s license
- Pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen
