Counter Sales Specialist
We are seeking a talented Counter Sales Specialist to join our team at Genuine Parts Company. As a key member of our retail store, you will be the face of our business and play a critical role in providing exceptional customer service.
Responsibilities:
- Provide expert advice and solutions to customers on auto parts and services in person or over the phone
- Utilize your knowledge of automotive parts to assist other team members in answering customer questions
- Deliver outstanding customer care and interactions with every customer who enters our store
- Bring energy and enthusiasm to our fast-paced retail environment
- Welcome customers into our store and engage them to provide a positive consumer experience
- Use technology, including computers, cash registers, telephones, and paper catalog systems
Requirements:
- A valid driver's license
- Previous experience in the automotive industry or a willingness to learn about auto parts
- A high school diploma or GED, technical or trade school courses, or degree
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- A passion for working in a fast-paced retail environment
- Great listening skills and empathy for customers
Preferred Qualifications:
- A background or passion for the automotive industry, heavy equipment, farm industry, diesel, marine, or dealership
- Experience in a parts store, auction, retail store, or auto body/collision repair
- Knowledge of cataloging and/or inventory management systems
- A customer-centric approach (both internal and external)
- ASE Certifications
