ABOUT THIS POSITION

Our Cashiers connect with, support, and uplift the lives of the students, faculty, staff, and guests we serve in a school environment. The role goes beyond operating the register—it is about delivering Genuine Foods' culture of hospitality while providing exceptional customer service and creating a welcoming dining experience for every guest.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide Genuine-quality customer service to all customers by greeting, assisting, and thanking guests in a friendly and professional manner.
• Accurately process transactions using the point-of-sale (POS) system, including cash, credit/debit cards, meal plans, and other forms of payment.
• Follow all cash handling, balancing, and security procedures.
• Assist customers with questions regarding menu items, meal plans, and dining services.
• Ensure food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards are followed at all times.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional cashier station and dining area.
• Restock supplies, condiments, beverages, and service items as needed, following proper FIFO (First In, First Out) procedures.
• Support opening and closing duties, including cleaning and preparation tasks.
• Work collaboratively with dining services team members to ensure efficient operations and excellent customer experiences.
• Assist with additional dining hall support duties as assigned.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be flexible, dependable, and team-oriented.
• Minimum of 1 year of customer service, cashier, retail, hospitality, or food service experience preferred.
• Experience operating a cash register or POS system preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and ability to remain professional in a fast-paced environment.
• Punctual and able to adhere to attendance and scheduling requirements.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
• Interest in and commitment to Genuine Foods' mission to use food to help students enhance their minds, bodies, and happiness.
• Must be able to work successfully in a school environment.
